About

startups.live is where you find out what happened.

Every fundraise, every launch, every hire that matters. Not tomorrow morning in a newsletter. Not next week in a roundup. The moment it files, the moment it ships, the moment the offer letter goes out. We cover tech the way a wire service covers markets: continuously, accurately, and without the breathless tone that makes most startup coverage unreadable.

We do five things, and we do them so you don't have to have five tabs open.

01 — SIGNAL

The Newsroom

The feed. Every fundraise, product launch, and key hire across tech, filed in real time and fact-checked before it goes out. Most startup news is either a press release someone paid to get placed or a rumor someone heard at a dinner. Ours is neither. We pull from primary sources, verify, and publish. If it's on startups.live, it happened.

Read it in the browser, get it in the morning briefing at 06:00 CST, or let it live in the background of your day.

Open the feed
02 — LIVE

Demo Day

Every weekday at noon, five founders pitch live. Five minutes each. Real companies, real asks, real investors watching. If you're raising, this is the shortest path between your pitch and a check from a stranger who decided in twenty-five minutes that they believed you. If you're an investor, this is the shortest path between your attention and a founder you would not have met otherwise.

Free to pitch. Free to watch. Curated hard, because the brand of Demo Day is the slate.

Demo Day
03 — LOCAL

Cities

Every major tech city has its own newsroom, its own weekly digest, and its own version of the story. Austin gets Austin. New York gets New York. London gets London. The stories that matter down the street from you are different from the stories that matter in San Francisco, and the feed should know the difference. Subscribe to the city you live in. Subscribe to the city you're moving to. Subscribe to the one you're trying to understand.

City newsrooms
04 — DATA

The Directory

Every company we cover gets a page. Every page has the timeline, the investors, the team, the open roles, and every story the newsroom has ever filed about them. Twelve thousand companies and growing. When someone says "have you heard of X," this is where you look.

The jobs live here too. Roles at companies the newsroom is already covering, posted the moment they go live, removed the moment they're filled.

05 — ROOM

The Community

The people who read startups.live are the people who are building it. Founders, operators, investors, engineers, and the journalists we quietly became friends with along the way. When you subscribe, you're joining a room. When you pitch at Demo Day, you're pitching to the room. When you get hired off a job posting here, you're joining a company someone in the room already knows.

Community
Who it's for
  • For founders: You get a page that lives forever, a feed that covers you accurately, a stage to raise from, and a newsletter that tells your city you exist. None of it costs you anything.

  • For investors: You get a wire service, a daily pitch slate, and a directory built by people who actually read the filings. Premium access is available for funds that need deal flow at scale.

  • For operators: You get the morning briefing, the job board, and the community. That's it. That's the pitch.

  • For sponsors and media partners: Demo Day, The Daily Briefing, and city newsletters all have sponsorship inventory. If your brand wants to sit next to the founders building the next decade, talk to us at partners@startups.live. If you're a journalist or a publication interested in syndication, licensing, or partnerships, press@startups.live.

On air

Most startup coverage is written for people who want to feel like they're close to tech. Startups.live is written for the people who are actually in it. If that's you, you already know why you're here.

The feed is live. The noon slate is queued. Come back tomorrow at 06:00.
